The Town Of Falmouth

JAN COLLINS SELMAN FINE ART GALLERY
is located in the scenicpre-revolutionary war coastal village of Falmouth Massachusetts.Located 1/4 mile from the beach, and only blocks from beautiful
Falmouth Harbor (where you can hop hourly boats for Nantucket
and Martha's Vineyard), the GALLERY offers a wonderful blend of
yesterday and today in a casually elegant setting that
offers city quality with country hospitality.
~
Falmouth itself, just over the Bourne bridge, at the beginning
of Cape Cod, is a treasure trove of American history. From Pilgrims
and Native Americans (the local Wampanoag tribe were at the
FIRST Thanksgiving dinner), to Portuguese fisherman and legendary
Pirates (whose ships prowled the waters of early New England)
Falmouth waterways played a big part in early America. During the
REVOLUTIONARY WAR the British shelled the town and were
held off by a ragged and determined group of Patriots. In the
early 20th century, Boston "Society" adopted Falmouth as
a convenient summer playground and built magnificent waterfront
mansions, some of which still stand today as either "bed and
breakfast's" or inherited retreats. Falmouth is a very interesting place!

The diversity of this town; it's history, culture, beauty ...including the
beaches, the boating, the sports (six golf courses!), the fine dining,
and the GREAT shopping in the old "village" section of the town made
this a perfect choice for artist Jan Collins Selman and her partner
Joni Rapp to open an Art Gallery. Featured are the talents of many
of New England's finest artists (including the pastels,
oils and prints of Ms. Selman herself!).
~
Talented award-winning Contemporary Artists are at the core of
this Gallery. New England landscapes, monotypes, wood, metal and stone
sculpture, hand-painted furniture, and even the latest in Computer Art
prints are available in an attractive professional setting.
~
Remember, it is not unusual on Cape Cod to "bump into" one of
the local artists you have been admiring while browsing in the gallery.
They often stop by to bring new work or to simply just "chat". This
informal atmosphere lends itself to a relaxing and fun experience while visiting.

Come visit us on your next trip to Cape Cod. We are open ALL YEAR and always have a large selection of items available for the winter HOLIDAY season.WE SHIP ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD...  While in Falmouth, spend a day on any of the twenty-two miles of
town beaches, or perhaps by just catching dozens of views of Martha's
Vineyard from either a restaurant deck or from the famous Nobska Lighthouse
(see Jan Selman's prints of Nobska) overlooking crystal clear Vineyard Sound.  TheWoods Hole Oceanographic Institute is also located in Falmouth.
It is one of the foremost marine science laboratories in the world and
offers tours to visitors.
Please call the gallery at (508)457-5533 for further information.
